MOBY™ 5vX System Requirements

MOBY™ Single-User

For Windows:

A Pentium 4 processor, or better.
512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended).
A CD-ROM drive.
SVGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution video adapter and display.
A hard disk drive with at least 1 GB of free space.
Windows XP Professional, Home Edition Service Pack 2*.
Due to the large number of peripherals that are supported by MOBY™ but not Windows Vista, Windows Vista is currently not supported with MOBY™.

For Macintosh:

An Apple G5 or Intel-based Mac (upgrade cards are not supported).
512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended).
A CD-ROM drive.
A hard disk drive with at least 1 GB of free space.
Mac OS X 10.4.9 or higher (Intel).
Mac OS X 10.4.8 or higher (PowerPC).

MOBY™ Multi-User

Same as Single-User plus:
FileMaker® Pro 9 or 9 at every workstations (aka client).
FileMaker® Server 9 on a dedicated system.

Server Requirements

For Windows

Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2
Dual CPU/Core Duo Pentium 3.4 Ghz or faster
3 Gb RAM or higher
Mirrored 80+ GB 10,000 RPM Drives or better
Hardware RAID recommended, Software RAID acceptable
Please note - we recommend 4 drives in dual RAID configurations for storage, speed and redundancy.

For Macintosh

Mac OS X or OS X Server Version 10.5.1
Dual Core/Core Duo 2.6 Ghz or faster
2 Gb RAM or higher
Mirrored 80+ GB 10,000 RPM Drives or better

All platforms:

Networking: Support for statically addressed TCP/IP over a 100-BaseT switched network (multi-user MOBY™ only).

Backup: MOBY™ support has a firm "zero-crash tolerance" policy. If your system crashes while MOBY™ is open, MOBY™ support requires you to revert to a previous, known good backup. Virtually all backup software and media are supported.

Power protection and battery backup: All computer systems running mission-critical applications should be protected by a good quaqlity and properly installed Uninterruptible Power Supply (aka UPS) with an automated shutdown cable and software as well as basic surge protection capabilities.
